Consumer Media FAQ

Brightcove makes it easy to share video. You can upload videos just for yourself, to share with friends or family or to publish on your blog. There are also many Brightcove partners who love to show video from their audience. You can browse through Brightcove.com to find some of these opportunities, or perhaps you've found your way to this page because you've already tried to upload a video and you have questions.

Whether you upload a video directly to Brightcove or through one of Brightcove's partners, you'll get a permanent link on Brightcove.com to that video. You can share this link with anyone you desire and your video will be discoverable through search on Brightcove.com.

Brightcove's partners get a lot of video submissions. It might take up to a few days to see your video show up on their site. It will also help if the content that you submit matches the topic of the site or upload campaign.

The maximum file size for upload through a CGM campaign is 100 MB, which for many of the formats above is usually two to three minutes in length. We recommend that you limit the length of the video to two minutes.

Brightcove uses best-of-breed technology to convert your video into Flash video, a popular format that works well on the Web and across the Brightcove service. Try to start with high-quality video that is bright or well lit, and has not already been compressed heavily for use on a low quality platform such as a mobile phone.
