Adding Genres

  • Choose up to two Genres (such as Business News or Video Music) that best fit the Title. You must provide at least one genre.
  • Genres help viewers to discover your Titles through public search engines or other websites

To choose a genre for your Title:

  1. Choose the Titles tab, then select either New Title or Edit Title.
  2. Select Classification.
  3. Click Select to view the list of genres.
  4. Click on genres with a left arrow (>) for the next level of detail, if needed. After you have chosen a single genre, click Select.

To specify an additional genre [Optional]: Repeat the process above for the Genre 2 field.

In the Brightcove Console, tags are individual keywords or phrases (can include a space, such as "Professional Tennis") that describe your Title’s content. Tags makes it easy for viewers to discover your Titles through public search engines and other websites. Tags also help you to filter Titles in an automatic Lineup. (Otherwise, an automatic Lineup might include ALL of your Titles.)

To take full advantage of the Tags feature for Lineups: Add the same keywords across related Titles. For example, if you add the tags "travel" and "Europe" you can later filter a Lineup to include Titles which match ANY or ALL of these tags for a Lineup specific to European travel videos. For your convenience, the Console lists (below the Tags field) all tags you have previously used.

To add tags for your Title:

  1. Choose the Titles tab, then select either New Title or Edit Title.
  2. Select Classification tab on the left.
  3. Enter tags that describe your title. For example: A tennis Title might contain the tags "tennis match," "John McEnroe," "Bjorn Borg" and "Wimbledon".
    • Click any of the applicable previously used tag links to quickly add these tags, if applicable to the current Title.
    • Enter as many tags as you like. Separate multiple tags with a comma.
