Enabling RSS Feeds
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a popular syndication technology which automatically notifies users of updates to web content.
Brightcove Players can automatically generate RSS feeds for each of your Titles. Viewers subscribe to feeds from your Brightcove Player using either a desktop RSS Reader or a web-based RSS aggregator such as My Yahoo or Google Reader.
Viewers click the info button and choose "RSS Feed" to subscribe to RSS updates from your Player.
Players hosted on a Brightcove URL automatically generate RSS and sharing links. No action is required to enable this functionality.
To enable RSS feeds for a Player that is hosted at another location:
- Edit the Player in the Brightcove Console.
- On the Settings tab, enter the URL where the Player is published.
When you add a new title to your Player, your viewers will receive a notification which includes the short description of your Title as well as the associated thumbnail image.
