Introduction to Syndication of Brightcove Players
Syndicating a Brightcove Player means making it available to others (known as affiliates) who want to include your video content in their websites. Affiliates can be business partners, entrepreneurs, or special-interest enthusiasts who maintain or contribute to websites, social networks, blogs, or to Flash-based sites (note: incorporating a player into a Flash site requires compilation).
- Syndication benefits the video publisher by increasing distribution of Player content.
- The affiliate benefits from sharing this media content with its viewer audience.

You can make one or more of your Players available for syndication from the Brightcove Console. You can turn on Syndication while creating a Player, or by editing an existing player. Depending on your needs, you may want to create Players specifically designed for syndication.
Overview of Syndication Process from the Brightcove Console
| When a Player is created, its publisher enables a Player's syndication offer
to let others know of its availability for distribution. (View a sample offer) Anyone interested in the Player can preview or request it by clicking a link from the syndication offer page. (The Brightcove service hosts the player, the syndication offer, and the affiliate’s request.) |

(note: incorporating a player into a Flash site requires compilation). This preview lets viewers see the complete player in action—its available preview videos, titles , lineups, player controls, etc. To view any Pay Media titles in the Player: Affiliates rent/purchase the video. When someone clicks the "Request this Player" button from the Syndication Offer page, they are prompted to sign in to the Brightcove Console. The prospective affiliate is then asked to provide the publisher with the intended location URL (where they plan to place the Player) and other details. |
| Player publishers control whether to automatically or specifically approve requests to display their syndicated Player. | Automatic approval is appropriate when you want your Player to be distributed freely (known as "viral" syndication). Required approval gives publishers the ability to approve or deny requests for the Player. This also helps publishers develop a relationship with their affiliates and be informed about where the their Player is being placed. |
| Affiliates receive the publishing code for that particular Player. (This is the code snippet needed to place the syndicated Player in their website, Flash application, or other location.) Affiliates can then copy and paste this code to insert the Player in their location of choice. |
Player publishers choose which version of the player publishing code to distribute.

| Publishers and affiliates can access reports about syndicated Players. | Reporting is available for syndicated Players that you give access to using either or both of these publishing codes:

| Publishers control the style, content, and availability of their syndicated Players for their affiliates. Any changes to Titles, Lineups, or to the Player itself will automatically be reflected on affiliate websites. |
As with non-syndicated Players, a publisher can edit the lineup of titles, the Player appearance, branding elements, user controls, and other Player options at any time. Availability:
