Making a Private Syndication Offer
A private syndication offer is useful for managing content distribution to existing partners. The following strategies enable you to make a private syndication offer.
Select the following options when editing or creating your syndication offer:
- Distribution: Clear the default checkmark for "List in a public directory."
- Type of Publishing Code: Choose either JavaScript or ActionScript.
- Approval Method: Choose "I would like to approve anyone requesting this video Player before it can be used"
Then, privately communicate the availability of your video Player to select affiliates:
- Choose the Syndication tab from the Brightcove Console.
- From the Manage Offers tab page, select your Player offer in the list on the left.
- Click the Get Syndication Code button on the right.
- Copy your choice from the Brightcove-provided links and paste it into a private email or in a password-protected area of your website.
- Syndication Presentation URL - Choose this link for prospective affiliates to be able to view your syndication offer (includes description, ability to preview, and option to request your Player).
- Syndication Request URL - Choose this link to give prospective affiliates the ability to request your Player using the Brightcove Console. For example: Insert this URL in a follow-up communication after your affiliate has already viewed and requested your Player from the syndication offer.
When prospective affiliates request your Player: They must create a Brightcove affiliate account (i.e., register), sign in, and are asked to provide the publisher with the URL and description about the website(s) where they will include your Player.
