Follow these guidelines for providing Player information in the Players > General tab from the Brightcove Console.

- A unique name that you will recognize later as this particular player. You can base the name on the content focus (such as “Golf Tips from the Pro’s”) or where you intend to place the Player (such as “This Week's Picks.”)
- IMPORTANT: Be sure to provide a clear and descriptive name for your Player. The Player name is used during email sharing, by public search engines, as the title in an RSS feed (if applicable), and on Brightcove.com.
- Can be up to 60 characters, including blank spaces.

Specify the default web page where this player will be located. The Player URL is required to enable your viewers to share the player with others and discover your content through email, feeds, public search results, and on Brightcove.com.
You can add Player URL later If you are unsure of the intended web page location.

- Disabling ActionScript/JavaScript API: [Default] Prevents easy developer access to the internal workings of the Player—but does not entirely prevent such communication.
- Enabling ActionScript/JavaScript API: Allows a developer to easily communicate with the Player, access its data (lineups, titles, and player settings from the Console), and manipulate video playback.
