Viewing Brightcove Player Performance Reports
Brightcove tracks statistics for video Titles in active Players.
To access performance reports for your Titles and Players:
- Click the Reports tab in the Brightcove Console.
- Choose an Account Type:
- Publisher - Generates reports about titles, lineups, and players for which you are the content publisher.
- Affiliate - Generates reports about content for which you are an affiliate.
- Choose a Type of Report.
- Select a date range from the drop-down list or enter a valid date range in the fields provided.
- Some report types allow you to search a subset of items instead of all items. If the report allows this, a list of available items is displayed.
Accept the default for a report on All Items (titles or players) or clear the All Items checkbox to choose a subset of items for your report.
- To use Filter By: Enter as many letters from the title, lineup or player name as needed to assemble the list for which you want to create the report.
- To select an individual item: Either use the Filter By method (may be more practical if you have many titles or players) or click an item from the list of available titles or players, using the scroll bar if needed.
- Select Create Report to compile your report results and view them in the Report Detail area on the right.
- [Optional] Click Download Report. Click Save and identify the destination location for the report file.
Brightcove exports your report in CSV format, which can be viewed and edited in popular programs such as Microsoft Excel.
Notes:
- The Reports tab is on the far right. Depending on your computer display, you may need to expand your browser window to view this tab.
- For reports with column displays:
- To change the column sort order (ascending or descending): Click to the far right of the column name to activate the column sort arrow.
- To adjust column width: Place your cursor on the line that separates the column headings and move as needed.
- Changing delimiter conventions. Reports you generate in the Reports tab are exported in CSV format, using the Anglophone convention for delimiters: comma to separate thousands and dot to separate decimals. To learn how to import CSV files in Microsoft Excel using the opposite convention (used in Germany and many other countries), read Converting Numerical Delimiters in Excel.
