Brightcove Service Overview
You can access the following video distribution services from the Brightcove Console. Some of these features can also be handled programmatically through the Brightcove API.
Publishing
- Upload your media assets into your Brightcove account.
- Organize your digital video assets into titles and lineups.
- Create a Brightcove player using available templates. Optionally, add branding and make other style choices for the look-and-feel of your player.
- Insert the player into any web page (or pop-up window) or Flash-based movie, website, or Flex application by copying and pasting the Brightcove-provided publishing code. The Brightcove service provides a default URL for your hosted player content.
The published player is hosted by the Brightcove service, so you don't have to worry about operations and media delivery.
Sales/Marketing
- Build audience exposure to your products, services, or your organization’s mission by distributing video for free playback on the Internet.
- Add descriptive tags (metadata) for each title and get your videos indexed in public search engines so your audience can discover your titles while searching the Internet.
- Activate player RSS feeds to enable consumers to receive automatic notice when new content is published.
- Enable advertising for a title and control advertising frequency and other details for the player. (For advanced advertising features, you may want to upgrade your Brightcove account. For more information, please contact Brightcove.).
Syndication
- Create a syndication offer to share your Player content with organizations who would like to incorporate the Player in their own website or Flash-based application
- Affiliates can then request your syndicated player.
- With managed syndication, you can review, approve, or deny syndication requests as well as generate reports.
