Tips for Creating Syndication Offers

Consider the following strategies when creating Brightcove Players for syndication. (View sample syndication offer page)


Consider which video content and Player layout may be best suited to your affiliates’ viewing audience. (Feature comparison of player templates) The focus and audience of targeted affiliate sites may help guide publisher decisions in how to best package content.
Create Players for syndication that are different from the Player on your own website.
  • For example: You might allow viewers to select Titles for viewing in a Player on your own website, but disallow this choice in a syndicated Player.

  • To easily create a new Player based on an existing one: From the Players tab, click Duplicate, then make any edits to distinguish this player.
Create a separate offer for each Player you want to syndicate. (You can create as many syndication offers as you like.)
  • Affiliates apply for the use of each Player separately.

  • Creating multiple syndication offers increases your chances of adoption and allows others to select the Player which best integrates into their existing site or Flash-based application.
By limiting sharing of the Player publishing code to either JavaScript or ActionScript, you can enable reporting for the Player in its affiliate location. You set these options from the "Default Settings" tab under "Syndication" or during creation of the syndication offer.
Make a stronger impression on the offer page by inserting artwork/images when you create or edit your syndication offers. (View sample syndication offer page with image placement) You can upload the following JPEG images to your offer.
  • Your publisher logo (Max = 230x60 pixels)
  • A syndication video still image that represents the content of your video Player. (Max = 480x360 pixels)
  • Headline text that promotes your syndication offer. (Max = 468x60 pixels)
